Hillbilly Elegy Actress Glenn Close portrays Vance’s Mamaw in the cinematic adaptation of his 2016 bestseller “Hillbilly Elegy.”
The Republican vice presidential nominee chastised for his “childless cat lady” remarks last month. In a 2021 interview, he referred to women without biological kids, including presumed Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris, as “childless cat ladies” with “no direct stake” in America.

Vance has previously advocated for tax penalties for childless individuals and even suggested giving those with children more votes, saying to ABC, “It’s not a policy idea. “It’s a thought experiment, correct?”
He then said his comments about the Democratic Party governed by “childless cat ladies” twisted. He also accused Democrats of making anti-child and anti-family insults.
In her reply to Vance, the 77-year-old Hollywood icon, due to participate in the third “Knives Out” film starring Daniel Craig, tweeted a photo of herself with her Abyssinian cat.
“Eve would have left an injured mouse head in the bed of anyone who insulted any kind of lady with a CAT!” Close wrote in her post.
