Former Disney Star Skai Jackson Arrested for Domestic Battery


Former Disney star Skai Jackson has been arrested on suspicion of domestic battery. Read the latest updates and details on this developing story.

Skai Jackson, the former Disney actress best remembered for her role in the four-season comedy Jessie, arrested last Thursday on charges of domestic assault.

Jackson, 22, who represented Zuri in the Debby Ryan-led series, held by on-site security on August 8 at Universal CityWalk in Los Angeles after reportedly assaulting her partner.

Authorities called in, and after checking security footage, people said the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department captured her.

The sheriff’s department reported that no injuries or firearms involved. Jackson brought to the West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station and released hours later.

Jackson’s spokesperson did not instantly reply to The Independent’s inquiry for comment.

It is unclear whether Jackson has been officially charged for this incident, but The Independent has contacted the Los Angeles District Attorney’s Office for more information.

Jackson became famous at nine for her role as feisty Suri Ross on Disney Channel’s Jessie, which aired from 2011 to 2015.

The comedy featured the exploits of the titular small-town Texas adolescent Jessie Prescott (Ryan), who accepts a position as a nanny for the Ross family in New York.

It also included Peyton List, Karan Brar, and the late Cameron Boyce. Jackson played Suri in the Jessie spin-off Bunk’d from 2015 to 2018, which wrapped up its seventh and final season.

Jackson has continued to appear in films and television series after leaving Disney. She most recently appeared in filmmaker Warren Skeels’ latest thriller, The Man in the White Van, set to enter cinemas on October 11.

The title, which is based on an accurate tale, “delves into the eerie underbelly of an almost idyllic 1974 Florida town and follows the terrifying tale of young Annie Williams (Madison Wolfe), an enthusiastic girl whose carefree existence turns upside down as she becomes stalked by a frightening man in a white van,” according to the movie’s trailer.

Jackson also appeared in the 2023 action flick Sheroes and a 2021 episode of HBO‘s popular sitcom A Black Lady Sketch Show.
