Vikings Rookie Khyree Jackson Death in Maryland Crash

Khyree Jackson Death: Khyree Jackson, a Vikings rookie cornerback, died tragically in a vehicle accident in his native state of Maryland, the organization said Saturday.

In a statement, the group expressed its sympathy for Jackson’s family, teammates, and coaches.

“We are heartbroken when we hear of Khyree Jackson’s Death in a midnight vehicle accident. Jackson’s desire appeared so far away when he left Arizona Western Community College due to homesickness. He returned to Maryland and worked at a grocery shop deli, gaining employee of the month recognition.

Khyree Jackson resumed playing football at Fort Scott Community College before transferring to East Mississippi Community College, where they canceled the 2020 season.

Jackson afterward moved to Alabama, where he served two seasons (2021-22) alongside fellow draftees Dallas Turner and Will Reichard.

Khyree Jackson shined last fall at Oregon, earning All-Pac-12 accolades from The Associated Press and the league’s coaches, as well as a ticket to the Reese’s Senior Bowl.

Vikings owners Mark and Zygi Wilf stated they are “deeply upset” by the news.

Maryland State Police confirmed Saturday that they are investigating Khyree Jackson Death in the car crash, Anthony Lytton Jr., and Isaiah Hazel.

Hazel, Jackson, and Lytton were classmates at Dr. Henry A. Wise, Jr. High School in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

According to a news statement from Maryland State Police, each of the victims were in a maroon Dodge Charger. Hazel was driving, Khyree Jackson was in the first passenger seat, and Lytton was in the back of the car.

According to the announcement, troopers arrived at an accident just after 3 a.m. on Saturday and discovered three automobiles involved. According to early findings, the Charger was hit by a silver Infinity Q50 and driven off the road. The Infinity Q50 then collided with a silver Chevy Impala.

According to the press statement, passengers of the Infinity Q50 or Chevrolet Impala reported no injuries.

The Maryland State Police Crash Team is in charge of the investigation.
