Challenges Ahead for Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar in Final Round

The 2021 Deaflympic gold medalist struggled to find her groove, hitting five bogeys and a triple bogey on the 15th hole after failing to make a single birdie.

Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar, both Tokyo Olympians, will face a difficult challenge when they enter the final round on Saturday.

The women’s golf event in the Paris 2024 Olympics will include 60 players competing over four days and four rounds. Each round has 18 holes.

Switzerland’s Morgane Metraux, who broke the Olympic record on Thursday with an eight-under 28 on the front nine, tied for first place after shooting a one-under 71.

Lydia Ko of New Zealand, who was third on Thursday, moved up to share the lead after a superb four-under 68.

Rose Zhang of the United States had a five-under-par 67 to tie Japan’s Miyu Yamashita for third place with a four-under 68.

Golf appeared on the Olympic program in 1900 and 1904 but later removed. The sport returned to the Olympics in Rio in 2016 and has remained so ever since.

Aditi Ashok finished fourth in Tokyo 2020, just missing out on a medal.
