Google Delisted Apps from Play Store Without Notice: Info Edge

Info Edge announce on Saturday that the company’s mobile applications Naukri, Naukri Recruiter, Naukrigulf, 99acres, and Shiksha have been removed from the Google Play Store.

In a stock exchange statement, the company stated that the app removal “comes as a shock to the Company, since this action taken by Google without providing due and sufficient notice.”

“The Company is looking into the next step of action and working with Google in this regard to ensure that the Company’s mobile applications can restore on the Google Play Store, in the best timely manner,” according to the statement.

Google said on March 1 that it has begun taking action against ten Indian firms for failing to comply with the Android manufacturer’s billing standards, which app developers have challenged.

Sanjeev Bikhchandani, founder and vice-chairman of Info Edge India, stated that the company followed Google’s Play Store regulations.

“We have been complying since February 9, the date the Supreme Court order issued. There are no pending Google bills with us. “All have been paid on time,” he told ET.

Info Edge added that users who have previously downloaded the company’s applications can continue to use them.

“The statement added that users accessing the Company’s mobile apps through other platforms, such as the Apple App Store, or using the relevant web platforms on mobile and desktop, not affected by this change.”
