How to know if someone Blocked your Number

Communication is now easier and faster than ever in the modern world. However, there are situations when people intentionally block your phone number to avoid speaking with you. This can be annoying, particularly if you’re not sure if it’s intentional that they blocked you, if they’re too busy, or if they have a new phone number.
Whether you have an iPhone or an Android phone, this post will help you in identifying signs that someone has blocked your number. If you find that you have been blocked, we will also provide you with advice on what to do next.
Signs that someone Blocked your Number
A number can be blocked on a device in two major ways: (1) call blocking and (2) message blocking. This means that your messages, SMS, and iMessage will also be blocked in addition to ordinary phone calls, video calls, and/or other calls.
Unfortunately, you cannot know for sure if someone has blocked your number without first contacting the individual. This might be challenging if you are unable to contact them in the first place.
However, there are a few signs based on whether you use an iPhone or an Android device. I want to go into more detail on message blocking.
How to know if someone Blocked your Number on an iPhone
What occurs if your blocked on iPhone? There are two specific things to be cautious of:
The color of your messages
If you’re using iMessage to talk with another iPhone user and all of a sudden your messages turn green, they may have blocked you.
Whereas SMS messages go through your carrier and display green, iMessages are sent over the internet and show as blue bubbles when sent between iOS users. “Message Not Delivered” is typically displayed below the green bubble in undeliverable SMS messages.
The sudden switch between blue to green may simply indicate that the user has switched to an Android device or put their phone in airplane mode. But when paired with other indications, it can mean you’ve been blocked.
The state of delivery
Verifying the delivery status of your messages is a useful method to know if someone blocked your number on iPhone. If messages are still showing up in the blue bubble but you are not receiving a response.
A little bar of gray text should appear below every message you send, indicating ‘Delivered’ if your message was delivered. It will show ‘Read’ if the receiver has read receipts enabled. If no status is listed under your recent messages, the receiver may have blocked them.

How to know if someone Blocked your Number on Android
What occurs on Android when you are blocked by someone? You have two primary alternatives because not all Android smartphones allow you to check if your message has been delivered:
Make use of the “suggested contact” option
People you’ve active with through Google services are automatically remembered if you use an Android device. The intent is to recommend possible people you could find useful to add.
Here’s how to check if you’ve been blocked using this feature. Initially, remove the individual’s contact details from your phone. After that, search for their name in your contacts. You are most likely not blocked if the name continues to appear as a suggested contact.
Note the subtle differences between the lines
The message blocking is active, preventing the recipient from receiving messages, and if you attempt to send a text, you may receive a notice saying, “Unable to send message—Free MSG: message blocking active.” Don’t worry right now, though. In addition, among other things, it might be the result of a bad internet connection or low balances on prepaid accounts.
When you call someone who has blocked you, what happens?
No matter whether you use an iPhone or an Android smartphone, calling the number is an excellent way to find out if someone has blocked you. Aternatively, it can help determine if your messages are not coming through.
- Observe the following:
- If you’re not blocked, the phone will ring three to twelve times before going to voicemail.
- A blocked number will only be able to ring once before going to voicemail. (If a call ends up in voicemail without ringing, the recipient is most likely on another call, has switched off their phone, or has it on airplane mode.)
- Someone blocked your call when you used their phone with a masked number (*67) and it rang several times before reaching voicemail or they answered. [NOTE: To hide your number, iPhone users can also disable the “Show My Caller ID” feature found in the “Phone” section of the settings app. However, the iOS 13 software update allows users to block unknown callers, so even if you disguise your number, the call won’t ring on the end of the people who haven’t received it.]
Someone blocking you can be annoying, especially when you’re unsure if it was deliberate. Quickly you know if someone blocked you on iPhone, or if someone blocked your number on Android. The methods and advice covered in this post will help you with this.
Keep in mind that blocking someone does not mean that the connection is over; you can still get in touch with them via email or social media, for example.
It is probably a good idea to provide your contact some space if you’re still having trouble connecting, say, on Facebook or Instagram. In the end, it’s critical to accept the other person’s choice to block you and, if needed, move on.
