Ravindra Jadeja Retirement, like Indian captains Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli, Ravindra Jadeja declared his retirement from T20Is after India won the T20 World Cup in 2024.
The Indian all-rounder confirmed it on social media, tweeting a photo of himself with the World Cup trophy in the dressing room following a 7-run victory against South Africa at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.
With a grateful heart, I bid farewell to T20 Internationals. Like a steady horse racing with pride, I have always given my all for my nation and will continue to do so in different capacities.
Winning the T20 World Cup was a dream come true, marking the peak of my T20 international career. Jadeja wrote, “Thank you for the memories, cheers, and unwavering support.”
The spin-bowling all-rounder has improved significantly since joining the squad under MS Dhoni’s guidance. However, he failed to catch his stride in the just-finished celebration.

Since his debut against Sri Lanka in February 2009, he has scored 515 runs in 74 matches and claimed 54 wickets in the shorter format.
His finest batting effort was against England in 2022, when he hit 46 off 29 deliveries, proving to be the difference as they won by 49 runs. With the ball, his finest bowling performance came against Scotland in the 2021 T20 World Cup, where he took 3/15 in Dubai.
He was a key player in six T20 World Cup campaigns, including India’s historic comeback to the men’s T20 World Cup after a 17-year drought.
Jadeja’s greatest assignment has been his ability to field. During a period when there were players like Suresh Raina and Yuvraj Singh, the all-rounder from Saurashtra stood out even more for his ability to strike the mark on several occasions throughout his career.
With Axar Patel and Hardik Pandya in the team as designated all-rounders, Jadeja can comfortably give over the bat to the duo, allowing him to focus on the ODI and Test formats, where he can make a far bigger impact.
